On the early morning of 21st June 2024, the Nazareth Hospital celebrated International Yoga Day. The program, organized meticulously by Fr. Vipin D'Souza, Director Nazareth Hospital, brought together a diverse group of attendees, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The event began promptly at 5:00 AM, with Fr. Vipin D'Souza delivering the welcome address. His warm introduction set the tone for the morning, as he extended a heartfelt welcome to the distinguished Yogacharya Mrs. Pallavi Dayal and trainer Ms. Bhavya. Fr. Vipin expressed his gratitude for their presence and emphasized the significance of yoga in today's fast-paced world, underscoring how it aligns with the holistic health values upheld by the Nazareth Hospital. Following the welcome address, Yogacharya Mrs. Pallavi Dayal took center stage. With her vast experience and profound knowledge, she began by enlightening the attendees about the essence of yoga. Mrs. Pallavi explained that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a comprehensive discipline that harmonizes the body, mind, and spirit. She spoke about the ancient roots of yoga, its evolution over centuries and its relevance in contemporary times. Her words were both educational and inspiring laying a strong foundation for the practical session that was to follow. As the dawn broke and the first light of day illuminated the grounds, Mrs. Pallavi led the group through a series of yoga postures and breathing exercises. The session was meticulously designed to cater to both beginners and those with some experience in yoga. Mrs. Pallavi’s clear instructions and gentle guidance helped everyone follow along seamlessly. The participants, including the director, administrator, additional administrator, all departmental incharges, staff nurses, medical and non-medical staff, and students, engaged enthusiastically, creating a serene and unified atmosphere. Throughout the session, Mrs. Pallavi emphasized the importance of mindful breathing and the need to maintain a balanced state of mind. She highlighted how yoga could serve as a tool for stress management, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall health. The attendees, many of whom were experiencing guided yoga for the first time, found the session highly beneficial and rejuvenating. By 6:15 AM, the session came to a close. The participants gathered for a brief concluding ceremony where tokens of love and appreciation were presented to Mrs. Pallavi Dayal and Ms. Bhavya. This gesture was a small but heartfelt acknowledgment of their efforts and the positive impact they had made on the attendees. The success of the International Yoga Day celebration at Nazareth School of Nursing was evident in the positive feedback from participants. Many expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn and practice yoga in such a supportive environment. The event not only fostered a sense of community but also reinforced the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for better health and well-being. In conclusion, the celebration of International Yoga Day was a resounding success, thanks to the thoughtful organization by Fr. Vipin D'Souza and the expert guidance of Yogacharya Mrs. Pallavi Dayal. The event served as a reminder of the timeless benefits of yoga and its relevance in enhancing the quality of life for individuals and communities alike.
