Blood Donation Camp Organized at Nazareth Hospital
Nazareth Hospital, Prayagraj, in collaboration with the Allahabad Medical Association (AMA), successfully organized a one-day Blood Donation Camp. The camp was held in the hospital premises on 16 June from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The camp was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony, in which Chief Guest Fr. Walter D’Souza, Principal of St. Joseph’s College, and Special Guest Dr. Ashok Agarwal, Chairman of AMA, along with several other dignitaries, participated. On this occasion, doctors, nurses, hospital staff of Nazareth Hospital and many dignitaries from the city actively participated, and contributed to this noble cause through their blood donation. Assistant Director Fr. Melwin, Matron Sr. Moncy, Principal Sr. Alweena, Dr. Omer Hasan, Dr. S.K. Singh, Dr. Nishant Nigam, Dr. Meetu Agrawal, Dr. Vrinda, Dr. R.K. Singh, Dr. N. P. Mishra, Dr. Sachin, Dr. Sonali, Dr. Alok Gupta, Fr. Walter D Silva and Sr. Bessie, Principal of St. Anthony’s School, also donated blood and inspired everyone with their example.
The main objective of the blood donation camp was to raise awareness about blood donation and ensure the availability of safe blood for patients in need. The hospital administration stated that one unit of blood can save three lives, and that blood donation is free, safe, and beneficial for the body.
On this occasion, Director of Nazareth Hospital, Fr. Vipin D’Souza, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all donors and the organizing team, and mentioned that such events will continue in the future as well.
There was notable enthusiasm among the youth, who participated in large numbers. Approximately 100 units of blood were collected during the camp, which will be safely stored and used to help patients in need.
